Leon and Louise, by Alex Capus

Leon and Louise
The First World War is drawing to a close when Léon falls in love with Louise Janvier.

Well written story. Light on drama but interesting piece of history as the special bond between Leon and Louise is unrevealed along the way.  Leon, during two wars, is a likable investigator for the French Police.   His family life, intertwined between his original love, brings readers to small-town France as well as typical Parisian’s lives and complications of wars. The author’s discrete humor, lack of deep emotions, keeps the narration light and picturesque yet informative.  By Lara Moore Reviews, Contact
